Kingfisher ABANDONFRIDAY with BLUES BEFORE SUNRISE

Kingfisher ABANDONFRIDAY with 'Blues Before Sunrise' at Opus (Palace Cross Road), 30th April, 9 pm onwards:
"The blues tells a story. Every line of the blues has a meaning." - John Lee Hooker
"Blues is a natural fact, is something that a fellow lives. If you don't live it you don't have it. Young people have forgotten to cry the blues. Now they talk and get lawyers and things." - Big Bill Broonzy
What started as a simple jam between friends has turned into a passion they call “Blues before Sunrise”, a contemporary blues band whose roots are firm in the blues and classic rock, from Howlin’ wolf to Eric Clapton, while drawing influences from more recent music icons like John Mayer, Oasis, Ocean Color Scene and The Raconteurs.
Sidharth, the band's Beatles fanatic, is the guitarist and vocalist. Blues is his new found love and he's the one who’s forcing the rest of the band to go down to the crossroads! He's a bit of a songwriter and is now trying his hand at the blues harp.
Sheela, the band's Mama Cass, the lead vocalist and ecclesiastic influence, adds a smooth finish to the otherwise rough edges that inevitably form when four blokes form a band!
Srish, on lead guitar, the band's shy one, is also the most serious musician amongst the lot and his love for all things Spanish inevitably finds its way through their music. His love for experimentation keeps the rest on their toes!
Claude, the 'baby' of the group, is on drums. He is the latest addition to the band and besides his great hands on the drums, he's a pro at the keys.
Sam, the popular one, is on vocals and bass and is the most experienced musician. He's the one with the sense of humor and lightens up the act with his love for hats and thumping bass lines!
